Vlad graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Maryland, College Park, where he developed a strong foundation in medicine and research. During his undergraduate studies, he explored machine learning and artificial intelligence, as well as their applications in understanding Parkinson’s disease and ADHD, which deepened his understanding of the interplay between clinical challenges and scientific discovery. After graduation, Vlad took on an Investigator role at Deep Valley Labs in San Jose, California, where he researched general artificial intelligence to broaden AI’s capabilities.

Now as an MD/PhD candidate, his research focuses on bridging basic science and clinical applications, with a particular interest in computational neuroscience. Through programs like SHAPE, APSA, and OSAM, Vlad has mentored aspiring students, fostering their growth while honing his own skills as a mentor and leader. His experiences have inspired a passion for integrating innovative technologies into patient care, preparing him to contribute meaningfully to both clinical practice and medical advancements. Outside the lab, Vlad enjoys exploring the DC area’s culinary scene, listening to podcasts, reading, and training for fitness races.
