Caroline earned her Bachelor of Science in Biological Anthropology and Biology at The George Washington University (GW) in May of 2020. At GW, she worked in Dr. Arnaud Martin’s lab to study evolutionary genomics using butterflies as a model organism. Caroline completed her Master of Science in Biology in Dr. Martin’s lab in August 2021 focusing on genetics of butterfly wing patterning.
After graduating, Caroline started working at the NIH’s National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) under Dr. David Brody where she investigated the ability of nanobodies to cross the blood-brain barrier for use as an imaging contrast agent. Caroline
then worked under Dr. Steven Jacobson at NINDS where she leveraged single-cell RNA sequencing to investigate the immune profiles of individuals with neuroinflammatory conditions caused by a
viral infection.
Caroline joined Georgetown’s IPN in 2024 looking to further investigate neuroimmunology. She is currently doing her thesis research in Dr. Jeffrey Huang’s lab studying disease associated oligodendrocytes using mouse models of multiple sclerosis.
