Kyungji (KJ) is a first-year PhD student in the Interdisciplinary Program in Neuroscience (IPN). Prior to beginning her PhD, KJ earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees, both with a major in Sport Science, from Pusan National University in South Korea. She then continued her education at Georgetown University, where she earned a second master’s degree in Integrative Neuroscience in 2024 under the mentorship of Dr. Ella Striem-Amit in the Sensory and Motor Plasticity Lab. After graduation, she worked with Dr. Tina Liu in the Visual Perception and Plasticity Lab.
KJ is currently interested in understanding the neural mechanisms underlying sensory plasticity in the visual system. Her long-term research goal is to translate scientific discoveries into approaches that contribute to reducing global disparities in healthcare.
