Anthony graduated from Davidson College in 2024 with a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Neuroscience. At Davidson College, Anthony worked in Dr. Mark Smith’s behavioral pharmacology laboratory investigating xylazine’s impact on the mu-opioid-mediated discriminative stimulus effects of fentanyl, as well as the effects of xylazine on naloxone-precipitated fentanyl withdrawal in a rodent model.
Following his undergraduate studies, Anthony joined Dr. Matthew Roesch’s laboratory at the University of Maryland, College Park. Here, Anthony investigated brain structures and circuits underlying executive control and decision-making, using single-unit recording and rodent behavioral paradigms.
Currently, Anthony is rotating with Dr. Patrick Forcelli, Dr. Alexey Ostroumov, and Dr. Rebekah Evans to better grasp the circuit-level interactions that underlie neurological and neuropsychiatric conditions. Outside of his research, Anthony enjoys reading and coaching high school wrestling.
