Annual IPN Retreat
Mentoring Discussion
Saturday: 9:00 -
over breakfast - and beyond
Organizers:
Mark Chevillet, Meredith Jones
Two
people entering into a collaboration will naturally bring along with them
their own pre-suppositions regarding what they expect to contribute as well
as what they expect to gain. The degree to which these expectations match
up on each end can to a large extent determine how successful and enjoyable
your collaboration will be. This session is meant to get faculty and
students talking about what these preconceived ideas are from each
perspective. Based on the discussion, a brief set of questions will be
collected to be used as a starting point for students and mentors to discuss
these topics when deciding on a thesis collaboration.
